Bungo Fest

The Arches Off-Site and Strathbungo Society presents

Bungo Fest

Sat 8 Oct 2011 | 11am-8pm | Various locations around Strathbungo

The Arches and Strathbungo Society have teamed up to present Bungo Fest, a one-day festival of micro-performances in the bars, cafes, restaurants and shops around Strathbungo, featuring roving and static pieces from a diverse range of local artists.

Whilst some performances will move from venue to venue throughout the afternoon, there’ll also be others on at specific times, so audiences can move from place to place with a guide.

Performances, all by local artists, include poetry, theatre, spoken word, children’s workshops, music and a special visit from the Arches Community Choir, who will be making their way through the area with choral versions of contemporary pop songs.

An intimate theatre performance telling the real experience of this journey, exploring the meaning and purpose of political protest, the limits of personal power and the possibility of change.  “powerful and poignant” ****  Scotsman
