The Glasgow School of Art presents its 2013 fashion show at the Arches on Tues 5th and Wed 6th March.
The Glasgow School of Art undergraduate Fashion Show has been produced by the Textile students since the 1940s and has become synonymous with the city’s position as a centre of art and design. Highlights of the 2013 event will include the third year Textile students’ collections inspired by the Ballets Russes and worked in collaboration with Royal Conservatoire Scotland, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Scottish Ballet and the choreographer Hubert Essakow, as part of the centenary celebration of The Rite of Spring.
This year, the event will also play host for the first time to third year Fashion students from the new undergraduate course, and who will be the first group of students to graduate in Fashion at GSA. They will be presenting work featuring contemporary application of one of Scotland’s most celebrated fabrics, Harris Tweed.
