Last Orders Exhibition Launch

Last Orders Exhibition Launch

Wed 13 Jul 2011 | 6pm-8pm (in Arches foyer) | Free

Please join us for the launch of Last Orders – In Process, an exhibition of images and portraits captured in rehearsal for Last Orders, a new work by David Hughes Dance showing at the Traverse this August.

As part of the Traverse Theatre’s Edinburgh Fringe programme 2011, David Hughes Dance Productions, in association with NTS, will be presenting Last Orders, a stunning new work of dance-theatre choreographed and directed by Conflux’s Al Seed.

The follow-up to 2009′s Herald Award-winning The Red Room, Last Orders takes the tale of legendary 16th century Scottish cannibal Sawney Bean as its inspiration, leading you on a hallucinatory journey down the rabbit-hole through subterranean caves and derelict nightclubs, where nothing is ever quite what it seems.

Last Orders – In Process presents a collection of portraits and images captured in rehearsal by Alberto Santos Bellido, the photographer and lighting designer for the production. Bellido has worked as a lighting designer, touring technician, publicity designer and video producer for theatre companies and performance artists from across the UK and further afield, winning numerous awards along the way. He has provided lighting for all of Al Seed’s solo and collaborative shows since 2004.

Last Orders comes to the Arches this autumn.
