Richard Layzell: The Performer Within Us All

Behaviour 2012:

Richard Layzell: The Performer Within Us All

Sat 17 Mar 2012 | 11am-1pm | Free but ticketed - please reserve your place in advance

A professional development workshop by Richard Layzell as part of Buzzcut at the Arches.

A workshop exploring the potential ‘place’ of performance in everyone, and how useful it can be to have access to this.

This will be a practical, participatory workshop, demonstrating the many approaches to performance that Richard has experienced, from the almost invisible to the explosive. People with no previous experience, people with experience of related art forms and people who consider themselves shy are all very welcome, and of course people with previous experience. Everyone will talk and try things out, in a supportive, non-threatening environment.

Richard Layzell is a London-based artist whose work in performance, video and installation is recognized internationally, creating work for such varied commissions as Glasgow Museums, Tate Britain, Kettles Yard and The London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Part of Behaviour 2012, the Arches’ festival of live performance. For more see HOW WE BEHAVE, the Behaviour blog documenting seven artists’ journey through the festival.
