Serafina and Sam Steer: "Like A Ham Head In The Wind"

Sat 18 Feb 2012 | 7pm - 8.30pm | £6/£4

Serafina and Sam Steer present a bazaar of extraordinary new short films and animations.

Multi-talented multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Serafina Steer’s Victoriana-folk-inspired stories, haunting melodies and captivating wordsmithery make her sound one of the most unique and intriguing of the past decade, a fact confirmed and enhanced by collaborations with artists from John Foxx and ‘the synth king’ Benge to Chromehoof, Patrick Wolf and Bat For Lashes.

GMFF has teamed up with the Arches’ short film night Focus Left to bring her to Glasgow for this very special gig, in which Serafina will be performing her own live harp and psychedelic harp soundtracks to three films made with her brother, the filmmaker Sam Steer. Performed as part of the London Short Film Festival in January, it will feature their latest commission for the Branchage Film Festival in Jersey, Postman’s Familiar; A Rabbit’s Revenge – a stop-motion animation in response to Kenneth Anger’s Rabbit’s Moon.
