The Arches Commons: Economies Of Performance

The Arches Commons: Economies Of Performance

as part of Arches LIVE 2012

Sat 22 Sep 2012 | 4.30pm (2 hours) | Free

A global economic crisis seems an opportune moment to explore the various relations between performance and economies.

What sort of capital is theatre and what sort of labour is performance making?
How do festivals contribute to the political economies of their host cities?
In what ways are artists challenging accepted models of production, distribution and consumption?

Introduced by Dee Heddon (University of Glasgow), contributors are Nic Green, Harry Giles, Ross Birrell (Glasgow School of Art) and Sarah Thomasson (Queen Mary’s University London).

Make a night of it!
