The Occupation of Heather Rose

Sun 7 - Tue 9 Oct 2012 | 7.45pm | £6/£3

Naive optimist Heather Rose has taken up the nurse’s post in a remote corner of Canada’s unforgiving North Country. But when her healthy eating pamphlets and fitness regimes fail to solve the native community’s problems with substance abuse and subsistence living, Heather finds herself sucked into a world of emotional and cultural isolation.

A wry and unsentimental exploration of well intentioned girls, governments, race relations and obsessive guilt from playwright and ex-community health worker Wendy Lill, directed by Nicola McCartney.

The Occupation of Heather Rose is presented as part of the Scottish Mental Health Arts and Film Festival.
