The Arches & Slam Events present an evening with Boys Noize Records, featuring the return of Boys Noize himself, with support from SCNTST and POL Style.

Alex Ridha aka BOYS NOIZE has created his own sound and pioneered his own brand, amassing a formidable body of work. He has remixed and produced for everyone from Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, Feist and David Lynch to Jarvis Cocker, Santigold, Scissor Sisters and Nine Inch Nails. He has collaborated with Snoop Dogg, Chilly Gonzales, genius filmmaker Mr. Oizo (as Handbraekes), and Erol Alkan, and mixed up the scene as Dog Blood, his project with Skrillex. Rolling Stone listed Ridha among the ‘Top Ten DJs Who Rule The Earth.’ Ridha is also the heart of Boysnoize Records (BNR), the label he started back in 2005. The Berlin-based anarchist collective have recently celebrated their 100th deafeningly successful release. Releases include albums from Spank Rock, Siriusmo, Housemeister and Shadow Dancer, and EPs from Djedjotronic, Strip Steve, Boody & Le1f, Peaches and D.I.M. Ridha has released 3 albums:  Oi Oi Oi (2007), POWER (2009) and Out of The Black (2012). His last two appearances at The Arches saw him absolutely smashing Pressure’s birthday parties back in 2008 and 2009, and playing alongside Tiga and Turbo Recordings artists in 2010. Last year, he headlined Pressure and the Electric Frog’s Riverside Festival. Now, he returns to show us what Boys Noize Records is all about!

Born in 1993, but still looking like a young boy – in contrary to the adult, progressive sound of his unique techno – SCNTST grew up in a small village near Munich. He began teaching himself how to produce electronic music with Ableton Live in 2010, and rapidly started to develop his own remarkable sound. Together with his friend Etnik from Hamburg, he soon released some of his work on a small label in America. His musical style changed from  trashy electro to advanced techno, which was very well received on  SCNTST’s Soundcloud page. Maybe it was his early influences, like Boys Noize, Tiga, the Warp label, or even hip-hop acts like Tyler the Creator that made his music so compelling. Maybe it was his inimitable production technique, often sampling sound with an old video camera. Either way, his fate was decided in 2012 when he got in contact with Boys Noize, who released his debut album Self Therapy on BNR in 2013, along with further releases like ‘Premelodic Structures’ (2012) and ‘Percee Scan’ (2013), or his remix of ‘Dood’ for Claude Van Stroke (2014). Two new SCNTST releases are currently in the pipeline and will hit stores this summer. He makes his Arches debut this November.

One of the early affiliates of Glasgow’s Numbers, and the Night Slugs‘ label manager, POL Style has been involved in music since his early days. His career started at the age of 17 when he played his first live show at Sub Club. Since 2007 he has been running Numbers in Tokyo, alongside many other one-off parties, and is considered by most as the ambassador of the Tokyo club scene. 2014 saw releases on DJ Haus‘s imprint UTTU. His tracks have received support from Laurent Garnier, Skream, Rustie, Jackmaster, Christian Martin, Jimmy Edgar, Girl Unit and many more. He has contributed DJ mixes to labels such as LuckyMe, Mad Decent, Sound Pellegrino, Discobelle, and many more.
