Celtic Connections 2012: Beat Bothy

Fri 3 Feb 2012 | 10.30pm - 3am | £ 10 + bf

The Beat Bothy club night at the Arches, Glasgow as part of Celtic Connections festival 2012.

Glasgow’s most fabled club venue The Arches will be dancing to a different drum tonight, feasting on a massive late-night spread of cutting-edge beats, tunes and grooves. For your booty-shaking delectation, we present the debut outing by three of Croft No.5 and the Treacherous Orchestra’s chief culprits – guitarist Barry Reid, accordionist John Somerville and fiddler Adam Sutherland – in their bangin’ new electro/dance project Halcyon; Skye’s young champions of Celtic/clubland fusion Niteworks, and all discerning folkies’ favourite DJ Dolphin Boy.

Also from Skye, there’s the small matter of one of Scotland’s biggest DJ talent’s Mylo with a specially created set and, from France, the 21st-century one-man-band that is Chapelier Fou.

Glasgow’s annual folk, roots and world music festival, Celtic Connections is a celebration of Celtic music and its connections with music across the globe, with more than 300 events in venues and locations across Glasgow from 19th Jan – 5th Feb 2012.
