If you think it is purely the men who bring it hard behind the decks – you have yet to meet Hannah Wants. This May, following her 100% sold out UK tour, she comes to The Arches for a very special one-off event. Support comes from DJ Barely Legal and Tom Shorterz.
“The undisputed queen of 2014” – Mixmag
“Her tireless dedication to her cause, down-to-earth attitude and downright amazing talent
has cemented her place as one of the UK’s most sought after artists” – Skiddle
A child of the garage generation Hannah Wants has validated herself as a world renowned DJ with some serious credentials. In 2014 alone Hannah picked up the Best Breakthrough DJ title at the DJ Mag awards and became Mixmag’s Best Breakthrough DJ and Star Of The Year. Armed with an innate desire and passion to practice the art of DJ’ing from a young age, Hannah has worked tirelessly for over a decade to pursue her DJ dream. Throughout this journey Wants has acquired an individual hard-hitting style and true competence behind the decks.
Nourishing her addiction to music the Birmingham-born DJ dedicated the summer of 2010 to Ibiza. Following a number of competition wins, an unexpected headline opportunity at Es Paradis and an invitation to run her own weekly night at Viva, it was there on the White Isle that Hannah really started to make a name for herself. Hannah’s main aim is to build a solid yet unique reputation for her live DJ sets and after a record amount of sell out events over the last twelve months she has dramatically risen from self-taught DJ to an unquestionable worldwide name on the house and bass music scene.
Championing music that is true to herself Wants further constitutes herself as one of the biggest names in dance music with her newly appointed Radio 1 residency, bi-monthly mixtape series and music productions. What Hannah wants, Hannah seems to earn. 2015 welcomes her new and self-titled brand ‘What Hannah Wants’ – the title will be leading Hannah’s headline tours, various festival takeovers around the globe, as well as readily endorsing newfound talent along the way.
With a majestic career already under her belt it’s Hannah’s developing knowledge, skills and experience alongside a true enjoyment of music exploration and giving back to her supporters that will see her name remain at the forefront of the electronic music scene. Hannah’s tracks and mixes have continued to create waves, gaining momentum with every release. The smash hit Rhymes (with Chris Lorenzo) reached #9 in the UK chart, and was playlisted in heavy rotation on Radio 1 and on dancefloors throughout the world. 2013′s storming What I Want remains an iconic slice of UK house. She has produced remixes for Disclosure, Alpines, Tough Love and IYES, and recorded mixes for Mixmag, B Traits, Annie Mac and Fabriclive.
Don’t miss this, your only chance to see Hannah Wants in session anywhere in the UK – book your ticket from Friday 20 February at 10am.

As Scotland’s original superclub, the Arches is the stuff of clubbing legend. There really is no other venue like it in the world.
Repeatedly voted one of the top 100 clubs in the world in DJ magazine, the industrial brick arches are home to a continuous roster of the world’s most in demand DJs and producers from across the dance spectrum, whether it be minimal techno, big bassline electro, hardstyle, deep house, UK bass, dubstep or trance.
With a Funktion 1 soundsystem and three fully stocked bars spread over six subterranean arches, the space is transformed each weekend depending on the faces behind the decks. From huge, sell out nights with platinum selling Ibiza trendsetters such as Alesso and Laidback Luke or legendary acts such as Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox and Jeff Mills, to the hottest, most-hyped names on the dance scene’s lips – from Jamie Jones and Nina Kraviz to Jackmaster and Omar S, ours is one of the most diverse club programmes in the city.
As well as the Arches’ own club nights, which have recently brought the likes of Hot Creations label, Madeon and Chase & Status to the venue, for many fans the Arches is synonymous with either of its two biggest nights, Pressure and Colours.
Slam have now been playing and promoting in the Arches since 1992 with their monthly techno and house night Pressure celebrating it’s 16th anniversary in November 2014. Normally taking place on the last Friday of the month, Pressure sees the biggest names in the game playing regularly, with guests like Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, Laurent Garnier, Joris Voorn, Maya Jane Coles, Pan-Pot, Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Len Faki, Dubfire, Gary Beck, Visonquest, Heidi, Vitalic and Green Velvet joining resident DJs Slam in recent times.
Scotland’s biggest dance promoter, Colours regularly bring the biggest and best names in big room house, tech-house, electro and trance to the venue, with recent guests including Alesso, Otto Knows, Laidback Luke, Dannic, Hardwell, Markus Schulz, Showtek, Gareth Emery, Nervo, AN21 & Max Vangeli, Nicky Romero and many more.
