Colours are very proud to present a party of mammoth proportions as we take on the might of the Radio 1 Big Weekend in Glasgow this May Bank Holiday. Continue the party at The Arches with dance music legends Gareth Emery & Pete Tong until 4am with our unofficial after party.
It’s been a while since these DJs have graced the decks at Glasgow’s best nightclub, so you can bet they will bring the noise and give you a night to remember. Whether you got tickets for the Radio 1 Big Weekend or not, this is one event that you don’t want to miss out on.
A classically-trained musician, Gareth Emery‘s career ascent over the past five years has been impressively and deservedly rapid. Producing gripping, club-facing records, whilst also pioneering one of the first and most successful EDM podcasts: The Gareth Emery Podcast which has won countless awards and has over half a million subscribers. His musical style is a fierce blend of house, trance and electro. Favoring musical diversity over stifling genre norms, the Marquee Las Vegas resident is always pushing the boundaries of the scene. His label Garuda is a hot bed of fresh talent , hosting sell-out nights across the world, from Miami Music Week to the UK’s Warehouse Project. With a wave of Beatport #1 hits under his belt this year including Concrete Angel, Tokyo and The Saga, his second artist album DRIVE, set for a 2014 release, looks to be as ground-breaking as his first.
It’s fair to say that Pete Tong’s history is intertwined with the history of acid house and electronic music itself. His career mirrors the story of dance music over the last 25 years. A true renaissance man, Pete has never been about one thing and 2011 represents a significant milestone. The year has seen Radio 1 hold a special 12 hour takeover on the station celebrating Pete’s 20 years on their airwaves, in March he held his Miami Pool Party (with Hawtin, Luciano, Joris Voorn, Riva Starr and others), and he’s released two new compilations, Future Underground, (mixed alongside Riva Starr) and All Gone Ibiza ’11 (mixed alongside Felix Da Housecat) on Defected.
His announcement about returning to Pacha, Ibiza this summer with Pure Pacha presents All Gone Pete Tong has quickly become the biggest story of Ibiza 2011 – with guests including Seal, Aloe Blacc, Dev, Yasmin, 2ManyDjs, Gui Boratto, Derrick Carter, Laurent Garnier (L.B.S), Guy Gerber, Calvin Harris, Felix Da Housecat, Paul Kalkbrenner, Steve Lawler, Laidback Luke, Paul Oakenfold, Stacey Pullen, and many more. Over coming months he’ll split his time between UK, Ibiza and Vegas where a 6 month Residency at Wynn is in full flow!
There’s still plenty more to be announced for this show, so keep tuned.

As Scotland’s original superclub, the Arches is the stuff of clubbing legend. There really is no other venue like it in the world.
Repeatedly voted one of the top 100 clubs in the world in DJ magazine, the industrial brick arches are home to a continuous roster of the world’s most in demand DJs and producers from across the dance spectrum, whether it be minimal techno, big bassline electro, hardstyle, deep house, UK bass, dubstep or trance.
With a Funktion 1 soundsystem and three fully stocked bars spread over six subterranean arches, the space is transformed each weekend depending on the faces behind the decks. From huge, sell out nights with platinum selling Ibiza trendsetters such as Alesso and Laidback Luke or legendary acts such as Fatboy Slim, Carl Cox and Jeff Mills, to the hottest, most-hyped names on the dance scene’s lips – from Jamie Jones and Nina Kraviz to Jackmaster and Omar S, ours is one of the most diverse club programmes in the city.
As well as the Arches’ own club nights, which have recently brought the likes of Hot Creations label, Madeon and Chase & Status to the venue, for many fans the Arches is synonymous with either of its two biggest nights, Pressure and Colours.
Slam have now been playing and promoting in the Arches since 1992 with their monthly techno and house night Pressure celebrating it’s 16th anniversary in November 2014. Normally taking place on the last Friday of the month, Pressure sees the biggest names in the game playing regularly, with guests like Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, Laurent Garnier, Joris Voorn, Maya Jane Coles, Pan-Pot, Chris Liebing, Dave Clarke, Len Faki, Dubfire, Gary Beck, Visonquest, Heidi, Vitalic and Green Velvet joining resident DJs Slam in recent times.
Scotland’s biggest dance promoter, Colours regularly bring the biggest and best names in big room house, tech-house, electro and trance to the venue, with recent guests including Alesso, Otto Knows, Laidback Luke, Dannic, Hardwell, Markus Schulz, Showtek, Gareth Emery, Nervo, AN21 & Max Vangeli, Nicky Romero and many more.
