Acoustic Affair present an evening with Spanish rock and roll outfit 5th & Pontiac, fronted by Scottish-born singer-songwriter Mark Tait.

From the elegant Spanish city of Valencia, famous for it’s beaches, orange groves, historic old town and working class traditions, comes a cultural and musical hybrid with a distinctive rock and roll sound. The band, comprised of  Goss (guitar, backing vocals), Sergio (lead guitar, backing vocals), Guindi (Drums), and Pipa (Bass), are fronted by Mark Tait (vocals, guitar). Singer / songwriter Tait released his debut solo album Terms and Conditions Apply under the name 5th and Pontiac in 2008 to considerable critical acclaim. While touring to promote the record, he played two shows in Valencia in the spring of 2009. Within a few months he decided to relocate to the city.

Long standing friends and musical collaborators Goss and Guindi decide to embark on a new musical project together in 2009, joined by the hugely experienced lead guitarist Sergio and talented young bass player Bote. While searching for a vocalist they meet Mark. Their new group Skallywag formed in March 2010. The band were to become an instant hit in Valencia and soon attracted a solid fanbase within the region.

In 2011 the group were introduced to producer, arranger and mentor Raul Nacher and throughout late 2011 and 2012 the group began the process of recording and developing their distinctive sound. By September 2012, with an experienced management team in place, twelve tracks recorded and produced to their satisfaction, the band decide to take the name 5th & Pontiac, while Skallywag was chosen as the name for the record. After contributing much to the band, Bote decided to leave the group in 2012. Pipa, a long standing friend of the band stepped up to the plate to take on bass playing duties.

Skallywag received its official international digital release via Dogmountain Records under license from Vamm Records in 2013. Now, Tait returns to his native Scotland for this very special one-off gig.
