Skipinnish Night

Fri 24 Jan 2014 | 7pm-10pm | £14 + booking fee

Highlands ceilidh band Skipinnish host an evening at The Arches on Friday 24th January, as part of Celtic Connections festival 2014.

Originally formed on Tiree in 1999, with a mission to champion classic West Coast music, Skipinnish recently announced an exciting new phase of their career with Atlantic Roar, their first studio album in seven years, released at the 2013 Tiree Music Festival. Co-founders Angus MacPhail (accordion) and Andrew Stevenson (bagpipes/whistles), with drummer Alister Murray, are now joined by the stunning voice of Robert Robertson, winner of the 2013 Mod Gold Medal, who sings in both Gaelic and English.

Also on the bill are special guests Archie McAllister, Pipe Major Duncan Nicholson, and members of the Greater Glasgow Police Scotland Pipe Band.
