and [re]introduce you to A Moment’s Peace and The Women’s Creative Company, with whom we’re co-producing the highly anticipated Endurance.
A Moment’s Peace is the Glasgow-based theatre company dedicated to making innovative and new theatre, working with diverse community groups to create high quality artistic work that explores marginalised narratives. The company, founded by former Glasgow Uni theatre classmates Catrin Evans and Cashel Gormley in 2004, aims to create a bold, challenging and entertaining artistic platform to express and explore their political and social concerns.
Born of a collaboration with conFAB and a series of previous projects focusing on women’s stories and issues, they set up The Women’s Creative Company in 2011. The company exists so that women of all ages and cultures across Glasgow can come together and share their experiences, ideas and energy. They provide an opportunity to develop skills, build confidence and have a lot of fun through creative exploration.
Endurance is their latest work, created and soon-to-be performed for the first time during Festival 2014 by over twenty women living in Glasgow. It’s a striking new theatre production that invites audiences to embark on a journey of discovery; one that imagines and recreated the historical and personal stories of Commonwealth sportswomen from across the world.
