"Fornix", Latin for 'Arch', is also the name of the triangular structure inside the brain responsible for memory and emotion. In ancient Rome, 'women of the night' were customarily found under the city's archways, giving rise to the modern English term "fornication". This exhibition presents a series of paintings on the theme of subconscious memories, desires and symbolic association.
