Jack Webb: Dance Triple Bill

GlitterGrid | KATY-ANN | FLESHnote

Tue 12 Mar 2013 | 7.30pm-8.30pm | £8/£5

An evening of bold new choreography from one of Scotland’s rising dance talents.

Following the sell-out success of his previous Arches performance, Quartet, Jack Webb returns with a a triple bill of extraordinary dance performances as part of a UK tour taking in venues across the UK, and festivals from March Moves in Aberdeen to the major Nottdance in Nottingham.

This triple bill includes the extraordinary GlitterGrid, a work of startling physical and emotional transformation and packed full of Webb’s idiosyncratic and bold choreographic style. Taking cues from the likes of Ziggy Stardust and other masters of transformation, GlitterGrid is a work about collecting, changing, identity and transformation.

KATY-ANN is a short and experimental film focusing on the emotional journey of Katy-Ann, capturing her simple yet compelling inner dialogue in a film which uses detailed effect to convey her emotional, physical and visual impulses.

The night will also feature the Scottish premiere of FLESHnote, a new duet performed by Webb and two alternating female dancers, Jessica Todd and Madira Gregurek. Minuscule happenings in the body and mind are magnified to euphoric levels as the performers embrace, and transform between, the human and the animalistic in an exploration of humanity, evolution and nature.

Expect bold adventure and idiosyncratic dance and choreography from one of the dance scene’s rising stars.
