Leyla Josephine: What A Fanny...

Into The New 2013

Leyla Josephine: What A Fanny...

Tue 15 - Wed 16 Jan 2013 | Tues: 6.45pm-7.45pm | Wed: 8pm-9pm | Day Pass: £7/£5 (call 0141 565 1000 to book)

Leyla is a girl. She enjoys clothes, clubbing, flirting and reality TV. She wears make up, false nails, fake tan, high heels and short shorts. She likes chick flicks, men in suits, glitter and Beyonce… and she calls herself a feminist? Leyla is a little confused.

What a Fanny… is an exploration into one young woman’s conflicted lifestyle. What is empowering her and what is holding her back? What a Fanny… asks the question, can women ever be powerful whilst still wearing pink?

Leyla Josephine is a performance artist from Glasgow. She specialises in working in different social contexts and mainly with young people. Her work often explores gender in contemporary and popular culture and women’s awareness of being watched.

Day passes are available for £7/£5 – please call the Arches Box Office on 0141 565 1000 to reserve your shows. See the full Into The New programme here.
