We are working with Glasgow Women’s Library to get women talking about sex, sexual identities and sexuality in a a safe and relaxed environment. As part of Sex in the Women’s Library! we will be hosting a screening and post-film workshop at The Arches of Turn Me On, Dammit!

For 2015 in an exciting new partnership with the Wellcome Collection, Glasgow Women’s Library is launching a season of activities called Sex in the Women’s Library. The programme includes film, discussion, comedy, exhibitions and more all with a view to getting women talking about sex, sexual identities and sexuality in a safe and relaxed environment. The film season, designed to put women’s sexuality on the screen has been curated by the Young Programmers

These events are open to women only unless stated otherwise.

In Skoddeheimen, Norway, 15-year-old Alma is consumed by her hormones and fantasies that range from sweetly romantic images of Artur, the boyfriend she yearns for, to daydreams about practically everybody she lays eyes on.

Turn Me On, Dammit (15)* is a Norwegian coming-of-age comedy film premiered in 2011. It is based on Olaug Nilssen’s novel of the same name. Set in Skoddeheimen, a fictional small town in western Norway, the film is about Alma (Helene Bergsholm), a 15 year old girl and her sexual awakening.

This screening will be followed by a song writing workshop with feminist musical guests.

72 mins, Norwegian with English Subtitles.

*This is a women-only screening (Trans-inclusive). Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult.
